debian-live won`t start on my desktop pc

debian-live won`t start on my desktop pc(it`s loading the page with live, failsafe etc.. and i choose live) i`m booting it from usb-hdd on my laptop it runs great but on the desktop it`s loading and then shows me just dashes on the screen (it`s downloaded from the official site).same thing happened with ubuntu the difference is in ubuntu it`s just a black screen.Does anybody know the reason.my pc is sempron 1,5ghz 512mb of ram nvidia-256mb seagate-160gb

Maybe some more info about your hardware would help like what model nvidia etc. I have seen issues like this but if you give basic info you will get basic answers in reply.

You can edit boot options in order to get some messages about booting.
Remove 'quite' 'splash' and also add 'nomodeset' option.
This can give you some additional info about boot process.
